Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce Staff

What our members say about the team at the
Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce

David Kiddey
Chief Executive

David joined Hutt Valley Chamber in March 2007 with a background in business consultancy and economic development. He thinks that the Chamber has a great team of board, staff and members and he enjoys working as part of it.

David is the Chamber’s in-house business advisor and is available to talk to members about their business needs.

When he’s not at work, David’s interests are heritage and historic places, travel and classic cars, particularly Jaguars. For relaxation he plays squash, reads and listens to music.

David is a Board member of the NZ Historic Places Trust, Secetary of Historic Places Aotearoa Inc and President of the Hutt Valley Jaguar Enthusiast's Club.

Anna Geremia-Young
Membership Manage

Anna joined the Hutt Chamber in March 2006. Anna thoroughly enjoys working at the Chamber as the Membership Manager. Anna is always interested and enthusiastic in visiting and meeting with the wide variety of businesses in the region. Anna values the long term relationships with the businesses and can discuss the many opportunities and benefits that the Chamber can offer them. Anna has recently been named as a finalist in the Wgtn Regional Her Businesswoman of the Year 2011 awards in the Outstanding Professional Service category.

Prior to this Anna had been in the financial markets as well as IT software companies, in marketing, training, product and management roles.

Anna is married and has two teenage girls and a cute dog called Toffee. Anna lives in Lower Hutt and likes the lifestyle the Hutt offers her family.
Outside of work Anna enjoys walking up hills, trying to master golf, art, gardening, cooking, spending time chilling with family and friends, travel, reading and teaching Italian www.speakitalian.co.nz

Renee Walkinshaw
Training & Events Manager

Renee has been with the Chamber since 2006. As the Events & Training Manager, Renee is responsible for the creation, development and implementation of the events & co-ordinating the Chamber Learning Centre training on the Chamber's calendar. Renee’s role is to ensure members have the opportunity to attend a wide range of informative, motivational, educational and interactive events & training that will help their business grow.

Renee is also involved with the Chamber Newsletters and Website.

Outside of work Renee is kept busy playing competitive squash, running and watching all things sport!

Amber Landall
Officer Administrator

Amber is the admin Angel in the office! With her bubbly personality Amber’s been ‘heaven sent’ to handle all the administration duties. Amber looks after the RSVP’s for the functions and the training as well as helping the Events/Training Manager and Membership Manager.

Not only is she a ray of sunshine around the office, but she’s a highly efficient admin professional who is organised and good at what she does.

Amber is that smiling face you see at the door and she tries her best to meet your every need. Outside of work, Amber is kept busy with Church and socialising with friends. She is very much a ‘people-person’ and loves to travel. One of Amber’s passions (along with shoes and food) is volunteer work and helping others where she can.

Barbara Branch
CBD Retail Co-ordinator

An enthusiastic member of the Chamber staff, Barbara is enjoying using her skills re-vitalising the CBD. She has had an ongoing interest in business and from 1992 - 1996 she owned and operated Mason’s Wine bar in Lower Hutt, which was the first totally smoke-free bar in New Zealand, for which she was given an award!

Barbara has a lively personality and is always prepared to go the extra mile; “I am passionate about what I do.” she says and believes that for a business area to get ahead you need collaboration and ‘buy-in’ between building owners, business owners, Council and the co-ordinator. “We all need to be rowing in the same direction for best results.” she says, “events and promotions with someone directing them are the icing on the cake and can change the perception of an area from dull to the place to be!” This has certainly happened in Petone where she was co-ordinator from 1996 – 2000.

Barbara is a member of the Eastern Ward Community Committee, is an active member of several community organisations, as well as serving on the Grey Power committee. In her occasional spare time she enjoys time with her grandchildren, gardening, movies and reading.

Sue is passionate about helping businesses succeed and sees the Chamber as a fantastic tool for businesses. She loves to talk with people about how involvement with the Chamber will benefit their business.

Sue also runs her own business, Advantage Business Coaching, another way she actions that passion for helping businesses. Aside from work Sue is the mother of 2 young children and in her spare time – well lets face it, with young kids – what spare time!
